Your Ideas Are Powerless if They Stay Inside You

March 25, 2012

This particular TED Talk focuses on presentations and the structure that makes presentations successful.

I encourage you to watch this TED Talk, which can be found here:

Nancy Duarte: The secret structure of great talks

Nancy Duarte shares her findings of what structures have worked for successful presentations such as the iPhone launch by Steve Jobs and the “I have a dream” speech by Dr. Martin King, Jr. The original three-part structure that was used for good story lines has now advanced to multiple points all sharing the common idea of ‘what is’ and ‘what could be.’  Duarte points out that in Steve Jobs’ 2007 iPhone launch he uses a structure with multiple points which seems to work well for longer presentations. The advanced structure allows presenters to use a similar format that will work in multiple situations.
