Inform, Influence, Inspire

March 29, 2012

Inform, influence, and inspire. These are key elements to consider when thinking about the purpose and reason for your presentation. There are many different circumstances in which you will be giving a presentation, but remembering these three elements when planning your presentation will help you connect with the audience.

Think about the end point you want to reach with your presentation. Regardless of the purpose for the presentation, think about the end goal you want to reach. You will certainly want to inform your audience of this goal. Make sure they know why you are there and educate them on the content. Influence them to want to do or feel something. You want your presentation to have a purpose. Be their inspiration. After they see your presentation they should want to take some kind of action or feel differently about something. Remember these elements when creating your content and it will help you format your presentation in a way that will capture your audience’s attention.
